There is so much planning and preparation that goes into your Wedding, it is easy to forget to plan out how to best prep yourself the morning of. Let’s dive into a great skincare routine for the morning of your big day!
The night before your Wedding will be filled with anticipation, but its important to get 7-8 hours of beauty sleep. Being well rested will not only help you enjoy the day more, but your skin will thank you, too! Getting 7-8 hours of sleep will help decrease puffiness, dullness, and dark circles under the eyes. Staying hydrated 2-3 days before will help, too!
If you will be shopping for brand new skincare products, I would strongly advise against trying anything new once you hit one month prior to your wedding date. It is possible that you could be allergic to an ingredient, or develop a breakout because it doesn’t agree with your skin. Give your skin at least a month to heal in case a rash or breakout were to appear!
When it comes to a skincare routine for the morning of I would avoid anything harsh or aggressive, like a retinol or a rough exfoliant. Gentle products are key. When it’s time to begin your skincare routine, start by cleansing your skin with a cleanser tailored towards your skin type (oil controlling, hydrating, etc.). Massage it on your skin for about 30 seconds, then rinse and pat dry. This next step is totally optional, but it adds a more luxurious and spa like feel to your routine! Get a good face mask to wear for about 15-20 minutes. I LOVE the Lancome Genefique Hydrogel Melting Sheet Mask! It helps fight wrinkles, brightens, and leaves the skin feeling super supple and hydrated without being greasy. Once you take the mask off you can use a jade roller or your hands to massage the excess serum in. *PRO TIP: There will be lots of extra serum left in the package, save that to use later that night after you take your makeup off.
If you have dry-normal skin, I would recommend using a facial oil next. Just a few drops should do the trick and will give you a gorgeous glow all day long. If you are oily try using a gentle toner (avoid witch hazel and alcohol) on a cotton round and applying it to your skin. Follow this step up with a moisturizer that is tailored to your skin type, then an eye cream. Be sure to take the extra time to massage the moisturizer into all the nooks and crannies on the face.
This step is optional too, but this product is too good for me to not mention. It’s the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It hydrates the lips more than a chapstick will and leaves them really soft. Wear it while you sleep the night before, or the morning of. It’s amazing!
When all else fails, add the Luxury Skin Prep to your Makeup Application and let me pamper you.
Happy Shopping 🙂
