I am a licensed Esthetician and a Professional Makeup Artist. It’s so nice to e-meet you!
I grew up in Georgetown, Kentucky. I have always been a girly girl and my love for all things beauty started at a very young age. I remember my mom gave me my very first piece of “makeup” when I was around 6 years old. It was a small palette with two eyeshadows and three shades of lipgloss, and I’m pretty sure it was Barbie-themed. Fast-forward to my high school and my love for makeup grew, but I wasn’t sure how to apply it, or how to color match myself, not to mention what concealer was, HA!
Anyway, do you remember being a senior and being asked the million-dollar question, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years”? Like most, I was way off. I had planned on being a nurse and ended up going to nursing school. About halfway through the nursing program, I really began to struggle. It seemed no matter how hard I studied, my grades still suffered. To cope with the stress, I would do makeup on myself thus leading to doing makeup on some of my sorority sisters (DZLAM!). It reached a point that people offered to pay me for my work. That’s when the thought occurred, “What if I could make a career out of this?”.
After much consideration, I made the decision to go to beauty school at Summit Salon Academy in Lexington, Kentucky to pursue Esthetics. While in school I learned all things skin, waxing, and makeup. I also had the opportunity to become a certified Airbrush Makeup Artist!
My dream, at the time, was to work for MAC Cosmetics, but I also knew I needed some sort of retail experience in the beauty world. I took a job at Ulta Beauty and worked there for a few months when I saw an opening at, you guessed it, MAC Cosmetics. I was ecstatic to see an opening but terrified to go hand in my resume. Luckily I had my husband, Zach, by my side to give me the pep-talk I needed before I went in! I went in and introduced myself, handed in my resume, went through the nerve-wracking interview process, and I GOT the JOB!
While I worked there I was a sponge, soaking in every piece of advice, criticism, and instruction that was thrown my way. I worked at MAC while I finished school and after I graduated I worked there full-time. My MAC career would last for the next 4 years, and let me tell you, those were some of the best years of my life.
The birth of Meria Beauty LLC
When I started thinking about leaving the company and stepping out on my own, I was admittedly scared. The idea of opening my own business was daunting. I remember talking to my mom on the phone for an hour about the possibilities of me launching my own business, but still, I was very unsure. I prayed for clarity and boy, did the Lord come through. The VERY next day, I got a call completely out of the blue. I was asked to do makeup for Nicholas Sparks for some promotional work for his book, “The Return”. I said yes, and after the phone call ended I remember bawling my eyes out because I knew that was my answer.
In the summer of 2020 I was ready to take a leap of faith and start my own business, thus, “Meira Beauty LLC” was born.
‘ The best part of my job, and why I love doing what I do, is seeing clients completely radiate with self-confidence after a service.’
That’s why I chose “Meira Beauty” as my business name, it means “one who shines”. I thank you for your interest in my small business, and I look forward to meeting you in person! xoxo
“Morgan Heber has done my makeup for all three of my proms. Going into each makeup session, I was shy and didn’t really know what I wanted, but Morgan made me feel welcome and brought me out of my comfort zone. We worked together to see what colors would work for me and my outfit and the final product turned out GREAT! She also offered some great makeup tips and advice to help ensure that my makeup would stay on all through the night. Morgan doesn’t see her clients as “clients,” she see’s them as family. I will definitely be using Morgan on my wedding day and for any other events. Morgan is a phenomenal makeup artist and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who is seeking a professional for any occasion.”Haley K
